The purpose of displaying the marks is not meant to embarrass anyone but to allow you to know where you stand in the class so that you know how much more effort you need to plough in before CA 1 next week.

The average score in the class is 27 out of 40. Taking Bryan and Amrita as benchmarkers, you count for yourself how far are you from the average score.

Those who did relatively well - Peter, Jia Li, Kyle and Pravin, continue to work and aim for full marks. Conceited and resting on your laurels will not help you achieve better grades.

Those who did not do as well, less than 27 marks, it is important for you to find out your area of weakness and make appointment with me to see you during recess should you need help.

There will be some mconline assignments for you. You have to work on them.

Those who can do well in Maths are not necessary the genius, 99% of them are really people who work hard and careful with their work. Let's continue to work together to see our fruit of labour bloom.

Mrs Mak always says : You work hard for yourself, I will work even harder for you. I teach only the BEST! Are you the BEST?

Reflect  on the maxim: Winning is not everything, wanting to win is.
Do you belong to this category of people?

Love you,
Mrs Mak

Dear all,
1. I have drawn the model for Pg 52, the question on exchange. I will go through in the detail tmr how to understand the model and the concept behind it. Meanwhile, just click on the link to check it out to see if you understand what I try to present. I have spent quite a few hours trying to figure how to draw the model, so please spend some time to try to comprehend it. This skill is found in your heuristic booklet H11 : Make a supposition (2) for those who are interested to have some hands on session before I go through it.

*** The answer in the model link is not complete. The rest of the answer is as follows:

   48 - 30 - 18
   18 divided 1 = 18 ( pens)
  30 - 18 = 12 (pencils)

2. Just a reminder, remember to get all your corrections done and ensure that you do not miss out any undone.

3. We learnt how to use the fraciton key in your calculator today. Please proceed to complete the exercsie on pg 77-79 on decimal. You can use calculator for all the questions.

4. On Pg 79, I want to see the models drawn.

5. Very Crucial - Go to Pg 93 and think about the Maths Journal question.

For those who did not have the Worksheet with you, the question is as follows:

Ahmad found the answer to the following without using a calculator.

1/8 + 2/3 = ?

Explain the step used to add 1/8 and 2/3. Then , work out the correct answer.
I only need you to explain your answers. The drawing of the model will bedeliberated in class.

All P5-4 pupils are to key in your answer in the box .

Please also remember to log on to the mcoline portal to work out the sums.

Love you,
Mrs Mak

Hueristic - Age problem

Dear all,

I have problem drawing out the diagram. Let me just explain the questions below.

Q3. Chloe is 4 years old and her father is 36years old, that means her father is 32 years older than her or that she is 32 years younger than her father. Regardless of how man years time, she is always 32 years younger. The drawing of the model will be exactly like how we drew in class.

Q4.  Don is 16 years old and his father is 44 years old, that means his father is 28 years older.  By drawing the model, are you able to see that 7u is equivalent to 28? 1u = 4.
Wait!!! Comparing the model, 1u = ? + 16, does the answer make sense? Think about it? We will discuss it tmr.

Q5. This question is similar ot Q2.

Instructions:
Paste Q3 - Q5 and do the questions in the exercise book. We will further deliberate the questions tmr. However, I just want to spend max 10 min on the hueristic.

We will be  doing the mixed number and converting fractions to decimals tmr. Really appreciate it that you come prepared to do your work.

Love,
Mrs Mak.
